District-Level Consultation Workshop on Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047 Held in Balasore

Balasore, 18/06 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A district-level consultation workshop on Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047 was held today at 11:00 AM in the auditorium of the District Collector’s office under the chairmanship of Collector Suryabanshi Mayur Vikas.

In his address, Shri Vikas emphasized the need for public participation in Balasore’s comprehensive development—spanning education, industry, art, and history. He called upon the people of Balasore to take part in shaping the future vision of the district.

The program was graced by several dignitaries, including Balasore Sadar MLA Shri Manas Kumar Dutta, Nilagiri MLA Shri Santosh Khatua, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Shri Narayan Pradhan, Additional District Magistrate (General) Shri Sudhakar Nayak, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Shri Hemant Singh, Additional Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Dr. Madhusmita Samantaray, President of Balasore Chamber of Commerce Shri Sanjay Kumar Das, President of NOSI Shri P.K. Dave, and Dean of Fakir Mohan Medical College Shri J.N. Behera.

The program was moderated by Dr. Madhusmita Samantaray, who also presented a comprehensive PowerPoint outlining the district’s draft Vision Document.

MLA Santosh Khatua stressed the importance of dynamic implementation and administrative commitment to converting conceptual ideas into action. MLA Manas Kumar Dutta highlighted the importance of preparing a resilient and future-ready plan for the next 100 years, stating that IDCO will play a pivotal role in Balasore’s industrial growth.

In this context, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Shri Narayan Pradhan remarked that Balasore is a major hub for rice, fish, and betel. He emphasized the importance of inclusive development and collective efforts in sectors such as agriculture and economic empowerment through various government schemes.

Both ADM (General) Shri Sudhakar Nayak and ADM (Revenue) Shri Hemant Singh urged departmental officers to function with commitment to ensure Balasore’s progress in line with the vision of a developed Odisha.

The workshop witnessed participation from stakeholders across industry, start-ups, banks and financial institutions, NGOs, and various departmental officers, and involved meaningful and in-depth discussions, resulting in many valuable suggestions and recommendations for the district’s strategic growth.
