Debate Competition on Restorative Justice held at Capital Law College

Debate competition on the theme “Restorative Justice: An Effective Justice Delivery System in Domestic Conflict” was successfully organised on Tuesday at Capital Law College, Bhubaneswar, by the Society for Nature, Education & Health (SNEH). 

The programme aimed to encourage critical thinking among law students on alternative and humane justice delivery mechanisms.

The event was chaired by Subas Panda, Director, SNEH, who highlighted the organisation’s ongoing work in the areas of justice, social welfare, and community-based conflict resolution. Renowned columnist Swetakruta Tripathy addressed the gathering and spoke on the practical implementation of Restorative Justice in Odisha. 

The debate competition was conducted by Dr Alam, Lecturer, who ensured active participation and a balanced discussion among the students. Participants presented well-researched arguments highlighting both the strengths and challenges of applying restorative justice in cases of domestic conflict. The entire programme was efficiently organised by Dibakar Mahali  and the other staff from SNEH, whose coordination contributed to the smooth conduct of the event. At the conclusion of the programme, Chandramani Das, Principal of Capital Law College, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating SNEH for organising such an intellectually enriching event and encouraging students to engage with contemporary justice mechanisms.
The programme concluded with mementos and certificates were presented to the winners and outstanding participants in recognition of their performance and analytical skills.
