Chandrakumar Mohanty Memorial Festival on July 5

Balasore, 18/6 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The ‘Chandrakumar Mohanty Poetry Award’ for the year 2025 will be conferred upon poet Subhashree Subhsmita Mishra (born 1982), as announced today in a press release by the Chandrakumar Mohanty Memorial Committee.

Formed in memory of eminent Balasore-based poet Chandrakumar Mohanty, the memorial committee has been organizing this annual festival since 2017, wherein an Odia poet aged between 45 and 50 years is selected and honoured each year.

This year’s recipient, Subhashree Subhsmita Mishra, is the author of eight poetry collections and one epistolary novella. She is a well-known name in contemporary Odia poetry and has remained consistently active in poetic creation.

As per the announcement by Krushna Kumar Mohanty and Utpal Mohanty on behalf of the committee, the 9th Annual Chandrakumar Mohanty Memorial Festival will be held on Sunday, July 5 at 6 PM in the Station Club Auditorium, where the awardee will be felicitated with a citation and a gift hamper.

The event will be graced by noted poets Bipin Nayak and K. Shyambabu Dora as chief guests, while Subas Chandra Patra, the president of the committee, will preside over the ceremony.
