Electricity tariff remains unchanged in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (24/03/2025): Electricity tariff remains unchanged in Odisha, informed Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) Secretary Priyabrata Patnaik in a press conference on Monday. As per announcement, no rent will be charged for smart meters up to 2 KW.
A rebate of 4% will be given to consumers on digital payments.
This move aims at encouraging cashless transactions. The OERC has decided not to increase the power tariff for the upcoming financial year.
Since 2021-22, there was no hike in tariff. Previously, a rent of Rs 60 was charged; this will no longer be applicable.
