FIRECRACKERS BANNED IN PURI FOR SHITALA SASTHI
Puri(12/06/2024): Firecrackers have been banned in Puri during Shitala Sasthi celebration.
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 has been clamped by the district administration in Jambeswar Temple, Loknath Dev Temple, Markandeswar Temple, Kapallochan Temple, Neelakeswar Temple, Mahadev Temple, Shankareswar Temple, Banambar Temple, Omkareswar Temple and Birharekrishnapur Temple.
The restriction will remain in force from 6 pm today till 2 pm on June 14. The development comes after 36 people sustained injuries in firecracker explosion during Chandan Yatra in Puri on May 29.
Later, 16 injured persons succumbed to their injuries.
