FM College Head of Education Department arrested after girl student attempts self-immolation

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): 

A girl student of Fakir Mohan College in Balasore attempted to end her life on Saturday alleging harassment at the educational institution.

Head of the Education Department of the college, Samira Kumar Sahu has been arrested in connection with the case.

Principal Dilip Ghosh has been suspended.

A special team has been constituted to investigate the incident.

The decision taken by the internal committee is being scrutinized. 

The victim identified as Soumyashree, who attempted self-immolation due to alleged harassment, has been shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition.
