FORMER ODISHA ASSEMBLY SPEAKER SURJYA NARAYAN PATRO NO MORE

Bhubaneswar(02/09/2023): Former Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro passed away on Saturday. He was 75.

Patro was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar this afternoon after his health condition deteriorated.

He was a seven-time legislator and the sitting BJB MLA of Digapahandi in Ganjam district. Patro took over at a Speaker of Odisha Assembly in 2019 and resigned in 2022.

Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul .
