Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): The prices of fruits have skyrocketed in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on the eve of Sabitri Brata.

While mangoes sold between Rs 70-100 per kg, grapes were priced at Rs 120 per kg, apples Rs 300 per kg, litchis over Rs 200 per kg, and pomegranates Rs 300 per kg.

Similarly, Jackfruits were priced between Rs 100-200 each, while 12 ripe bananas cost Rs 120. Supari (pineapple) was sold for Rs 70-100 each.
The fruitsellers told that the business is not like before during festivals like Sabitri Brata due to the rise in prices of fruits.
On the other hand, the customers said that they are not able to buy fruits in huge quantities owing to high rates.
