HAVILDAR DIES AFTER FIRECRACKERS EXPLODE DURING DEFUSAL
Cuttack (14/06/2024): A havildar died when firecrackers exploded during defusal on the banks of the Kathajodi river in Cuttack district on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Pradip Kumar Mallick, a resident of Jagatpur in the district.
He had joined the police service 24 years ago and became a part of the bomb disposal squad. Mallick was trying to defused the firecrackers seized by police.
After sustaining critical injuries in the explosion, he was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
