Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): Education is the only medium for development of the society and meritorious students play a significant role in leading the way.

The top two students in the matriculation exams have been awarded the prestigious Gopabandhu Das Siksha, Swabhiman and Tyaga Medhabruti-2025. 

Chandan Mahanta, a student of Tulasipur Sisu Vidya Mandir in Cuttack district, and Babita Rath from Sisu Vidya Mandir in Bargarh district of Odisha have been jointly awarded this scholarship for their outstanding performance in the matriculation exams.

Each student received Rs 1 lakh as a scholarship award.

The scholarship has been provided by Satya Sutara, a renowned businessman based in Singapore. Satya Sutara hails from Fakirpur under Anandpur block in Keonjhar district of Odisha.

The scholarship aims to recognize and reward meritorious students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and potential.

The award ceremony was held in Bhubaneswar, where the students were felicitated in the presence of distinguished guests.


The guests praised Satya Sutara's initiative and encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence.

Satya Sutara, a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, has been providing this scholarship to the top matriculation students in Odisha for the past five years.
This initiative aims to motivate and support meritorious students to pursue their academic goals and make a positive impact in society.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Das Benhur, a renowned literary figure and educationist, as the chief guest. He spoke about the importance of education in shaping the society.

Other guests included senior journalists Akshay Kumar Sahu (guest of honour), Sanjib Kumar Mohapatra, social worker Namrata Chadha,  educationist Niranjan Pani and Director of Institute of Management Bhubaneswar Trilochan Nayak.
The guests placed emphasis on the topic of discussion "Education is the solution".
