MUKTASOFT 1.0 TO BE ROLLED OUT IN 25 ULBS SOON
Bhubaneswar(10/10/2023): Mukhya Mantri Karma Tatpara Abhiyan" (MUKTA) – the flagship programme of Government of Odisha with its community-driven, participatory, and bottom-up approach has emerged as a highly impactful urban livelihood intervention.
The scheme is first of its kind in India and focuses on ensuring livelihood opportunities to the vulnerable urban workforce and migrant labourers residing in 115 urban areas of the State.
The State Government has designed and developed a web-based Application namely MUKTASoft for streamlining the implementation and facilitating quick payment to the stakeholders.
The version-1 of the MUKTASoft application has been pilot tested at Dhenkanal and Jatani Municipalities to understand the effectiveness of the application.
Based on the success at the piloting stage, the Government has taken a decision to rollout the MUKTASoft in 25 more Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) that covers five Municipal Corporations, 14 major Municipality towns and 6 NACs of the State. As part of the rollout process, orientation of Master Trainers consisting of members of State MUKTA PMU and selected officials of these 25 ULBs have been started on various functionalities of the MUKTASoft version-1.
These Master Trainers would be instrumental for imparting subsequent training of the ULB officials and CBOs involved in MUKTA for smooth implementation of MUKTASoft. G.Mathivathanan, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department addressed the Master Trainers for rollout of the application in the selected 25 ULBs of the State.
While giving an overview of MUKTA scheme with a focus on the genesis and its usefulness in urban context, Mathivathanan said Odisha is the first State in the country to design a wage employment scheme in line with the MGNREGS.
The scheme has undergone many changes based on the feedbacks received from ground.
The prime objective of design and development of MUKTASoft has been to automate various processes adopted for implementation of MUKTA, he said.
The Principal Secretary said the web-based application would be instrumental for streamlining the implementation and facilitating quick payment to the Stakeholders.
He thanked e-GOV for making an effort to design the soft.
“You all selected for the training are the key persons as resource persons who would train others in the process for effective implementation of MUKTASoft 1.0, Mathivathanan said. Total 300 resource persons from 25 ULBs have been selected for this training in five batches, informed Mr Sarada Prasad Panda , Director State Urban Development Agency ( SUDA ).The training programme was started yesterday(09.10.23) and would continue till October 13.
After the training of these Master Trainers, they would start imparting training to the field-level personnel engaged for implementation of the application has been planned, he stated.
