18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention kicks off in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (08/01/2025): The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention kicked off in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday with a focus on youth participation.
The event, which celebrates the contributions of the Indian diaspora, was inaugurated by Union Minister of External Affairs S.Jaishankar, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandavya, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi. In his address, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of technology and tradition, as highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He urged the youth to take inspiration from the Prime Minister's advice and work towards building a developed India by 2047. Mandavya stressed the crucial role of youth in achieving this goal, citing that 13 out of 20 citizens in the country are young.
He emphasized the need for their contribution to the nation's development. Chief Minister Majhi highlighted Odisha's unique culture and heritage, calling the Indian diaspora "cultural ambassadors." He invited the delegates to explore Odisha's rich heritage, including its temples, monuments, and traditional cuisine like Rasagola, Chhena Poda, and Dalma The three-day convention will feature various plenary sessions, cultural events, and exhibitions showcasing India's diversity and progress.
