FORMER PRIME MINISTERS PV NARASIMHA RAO, MS SWAMINATHAN AND CHAUDHARY CHARAN SINGH TO GET BHARAT RATNA

New Delhi (09/02/2024): Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao Garu will be conferred with prestigious Bharat Ratna award.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "As a distinguished scholar and statesman, Narasimha Rao Garu served India extensively in various capacities.

He is equally remembered for the work he did as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister, and as a Member of Parliament and Legislative Assembly for many years." The PM also announced that the Government of India has also decided to honour former Prime Ministers Dr MS Swaminathan and Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratha award.
