Leading literary house of odisha, Bhubaneswar Sahitya samaj Trust and Barsha publication jointly observed
'Pranam Praharaj' on the 28th of February, to mark the first death anniversary of eminent Journalist and litterateur Praharaj Satyanarayan Nanda at the Exhibition Hall of  Jaydev Bhavan Bhubaneswar.

Poet Amaresh Pattnaik conducted the meeting as President, Dr Bibhuti Bhushan Mohapatra was the chief speaker, Poet jnnani Debasis Mishra was the honourable guest and Writer Mihir kumar Sahu was the special guest of the evening.

In this occassion, a  souvenir was unveiled by the Souvenir Editor, eminent poet and translator Surya Mishra, Poet and souvenir editor Badal Mohanty, Poet Raksak Nayak, poet Kedar Mishra, and all guests of the evening.

Praharaj joined The Amrit Bazar Patrika as a sub-editor and served  at Kolkata for a stint of 10 long years. Later he retired as  assistant-editor of the I&PR department of  Odisha government.He has 16 poetry volumes, Long Poems, numerous Essays, Review,  Monograph, story, novellas and  translations across languages to his credit. The speakers had an in-depth analysis of Praharaj's work and were all praises for his pleasing and uncontroversial  personality. His work inspired by veda and Upanishads and Praharaj speaks unhesitatingly against man-made violence.

The speakers opined Praharaj belongs to a special class in odia literature for his exceptional style and precise use of symbol, poetic image, myth and an exponent of vortex theory. Poet Surya Mishra and Poet Badal Mohanty hinted at some initiatives to rediscover Praharaj's literature and make it reach the new generation. Praharaj's brother and Poet Praharaj Jayanarayan Nanda conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all the members of Bhubaneswar Sahitya samaj Trust, guests of the evening and all present there on behalf of the Praharaj family.
