PM MODI FLAGS OFF ODISHA’S SECOND VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS FROM PURI-ROURKELA, EIGHT MORE TRAINS
New Delhi(New Delhi(24/09/2023): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually flagged off Odisha’s second Vande Bharat Express from Puri-Rourkela and eight more Vande Bharat Express trains.
These trains will boost connectivity across eleven states namely Odisha, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat. The Prime Minister said, “Craze for Vande Bharat Express is increasing and it is only a matter of time when the new trains will connect each part of the country.” According to the Indian Railways, the new trains will be the fastest on routes of their operation and will help save considerable time for the passengers.
Vande Bharat Express is a semi high speed 160 kmph capable all air-conditioned chair car train.
However, due to the speed restrictions on Indian Railways’ routes, the Vande Bharat trains don’t run at 160 kmph speed.
All the nine Vande Bharat trains are first Orange Vande Bharat Express which will run on the Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapura route .
