PM MODI INAUGURATES GLOBAL MARITIME INDIA SUMMIT
New Delhi(17/10/2023): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the third edition of Global Maritime India Summit via video conferencing. The Prime Minister said, "During the time we met in 2021, the whole world was struggling through the uncertainties posed by Corona.
But today, in this changing world order,the whole world is looking to India with new hopes and aspirations." The summit has been held from October 17-19 at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai.
During the programme, the PM unveiled 'Amrit Kaal Vision 2047', the long term blueprint for the Indian maritime blue economy. The blueprint outlines strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing port facilities, promoting sustainable practices and facilitating international collaboration. The summit will be attended by Global CEOs, business leaders, investors, officials and other stakeholders from across the world. PM Modi laid the foundation stone of Tuna Tekra all-weather deep draft terminal, to be built at a cost of more than Rs 4,500 crore at Deendayal Port Authority in Gujarat. Besides, he also dedicated more than 300 MoUs worth over 7 lakh crore for global and national partnership in the maritime sector, during the programme.
