PM Modi launches Subhadra Yojana, says women empowerment key to Odisha's development
Bhubaneswar (17/09/2024): Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the much-awaited Subhadra Yojana at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Lord Jagannath and emphasized his commitment to fulfilling the dreams of mothers, daughters, women, youth, and the middle class. PM Modi said, "Women empowerment key to Odisha's development.
Before the elections, I had said that development will be possible in Odisha, if double-engine government comes to power.
Now, the state will reach new heights.
The promises that we had made to the people are being fulfilled.
As promised, we opened the Ratna Bhandar and four doors of Puri Srimandir after coming to power." Odisha Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi said, "The scheme aims to empower over 1 crore women, with 74 lakh Odisha women already registered.
Specifically, 10 lakh Odisha women will receive the first installment." The Prime Minister also handed over the keys of houses to the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana at Gadakana.
The PM also laid foundation stone and dedicated railway projects worth more than Rs 2800 crore.
