Preparatory Meeting Held for the 36th National-Level ‘Chandrabhagotsav' at Balasore
Balasore, Nov 3 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A preparatory meeting for the annual 'Chandrabhagotsav' Festival was held yesterday at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan, Balasore.
Like every year, this year too the festival will feature national-level painting exhibitions, multilingual music, plays, stories, poetry sessions, and a book fair. The event will be organized at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan premises from December 28, 2025, to January 3, 2026, marking the Chandrabhaga institution’s founding anniversary during the year-end holiday week.
The meeting was presided over by former MLA Pradipta Panda, advisor to the organization. Senior member Dr. Shashikant Mohanty coordinated the proceedings, while the founder-editor of 'Chandrabhaga', Poet Shrideb, highlighted that the festival — which has hosted over 180 national-level multilingual short plays, art workshops, storytelling and poetry sessions, and creative debates — continues to nurture creative excellence without losing sight of its youthful spirit and literary vision.
Among those present were Pradipta Panda, Govt. Advocate Ashok Senapati, Poet Sitansu Lenka, Children’s writer Laxmidhar Mohanty, Artists Kesudas and Marut Rout, former president and 'Bartaurmi' coordinator Ramchandra Sahu, noted dramatist-actor-directAshish Chakraborty, critic Dr. Dillip Rath, social activist Jadabesh Mishra (Bibhu), 'Naach' founder Arunanshu Panigrahi, Ronalisa Panda, senior lawyer Parshuram Pradhan, Tusharkant Mahapatra, Gajendra Prasad Mohanty, young story writer Sanjay Panda, and lifetime members Santosh Panda and Jagabandhu Prusti, along with social workers Abani Jena and Jyotirmayee Satapathy.
All participants expressed their suggestions and opinions regarding the organizational improvements and success of the upcoming festival.
It was also unanimously decided to resume the monthly publication of 'Chandrabhaga' literary magazine in the near future.
