SEA OF DEVOTEES THRONG PURI FOR SNANA JATRA
Puri(14/06/2022): A sea of devotees thronged the pilgrim town of Puri on Saturday to have darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings on the occasion of Snana Purnima.
The Holy Trinity was taken to Snana Bedi (bathing altar) from Ratna Bedi on dhadi pahandi. The rituals of the Snana Jatra commenced from 5 am with Pahandi.
The ceremonial bath of the deities will be performed between 12:20 and 1:45 pm.
Chhera Pahara will be done at 3 pm. The Hati Besha ritual will be performed at 3:40 pm. After the Hati Besha, devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the Holy Trinity from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. For security, 68 platoons of police force have been deployed.
