Second National Theatre Festival by Dhauli Review Trust from August 17

The cultural organization Dhauli Review Trust will host the Second National Theatre Festival 2025 on August 17 and 18 at the Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) University.

The festival will feature noted actor Amol Palekar, former Director of the National School of Drama Anuradha Kapur, former Director of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Nilam Mansingh Choudhury, eminent director Sandhya Gokhale, and NSD Director Chittaranjan Tripathy.

On this occasion, twelve theatre directors will be felicitated for their outstanding contributions to Odia theatre. For interested writers, theatre lovers, and art enthusiasts, bus transportation and meals will be provided on both days. The bus will depart from Rabindra Mandap at 9 a.m. to ASBM University, Chandaka, and return to Rabindra Mandap at 4 p.m.

In addition, noted playwright Biswajit Das’s play Nalipana Rani O Kalapana Tika will be staged at Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre on August 18 at 7 p.m. The English translation of the play has been done by renowned translator Samanjjas Das, and it is directed by Satyabrata Raut. Many senior alumni actors and actresses of NSD will perform in the play, according to Dhauli Review Trust.
