Second Quizabled held in Odisha
Bhubaneswar(19/11/2024): The preliminary round of the 2nd Quiz program under the aegis of Seva in Action, Bengaluru and in collaboration with Open Learning Systems was held successfully for the persons with autism, cerebral palsy and intellectual disability simultaneously at 9 places in the state connected on an online platform.
Students of 15 Special Schools from 9 districts -Bargarh, Balangir, Baleswar, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Khordha, Puri, Sundargarh and Sonepur participated with vigour and enjoyment.
A total of 116 students, 81 with intellectual disability, 19 with cerebral palsy and 16 with autism took part in the quiz competition.
Participants were given multiple choice questions which they had to see and answer online by using desktop computer or laptop or android based mobile telephones.
All participants received certificate of participation upon completion of the task.
Eight participants will be selected to participate in the Zonal Round which will be held at Hyderabad next month.
There is a prize money of Rs 10000 for the winner, Rs 8000 for the first runner up and Rs 5000 for the 2nd runner up in the Zonal Round of the competition.
Those who will participate in the National Competition can win cash prizes of Rs 25000 and Rs 20000 respectively winner and runner up.
It was a good learning for all the institutions involved in holding the event.
An online training program was held by Seva in Action yesterday for the benefit of all concerned.
The event was held under the guidance of Prakash Rath, CEO, Open Learning Systems, coordinated by Damodar Dash and supported by Manatosh Behera, Sujata Patnaik, Sagarika Sahoo, Bibhuti Bhusan Nanda, Sasmita Mohapatra, Priyabrata Das, Manoj Sahoo of OLS and volunteers of the Psychology Department of Ramadevi University.
