Self-proclaimed HIV, cancer, skin specialist doctor arrested in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (28/08/2024): A self-proclaimed HIV, cancer, and skin specialist doctor was arrested in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The fake doctor has allegedly cheated people of lakhs of rupees in Laxmisagar area of the city. Two of his associates, claiming to be skin specialists were also arrested.
The three were part of Asclepius Wellness Private Limited and sold herbal products on the pretext of curing HIV, cancer, and skin fairness.
Most of their customers were women who reached out to them to get fair skin.
They promised an ever-glowing and fair skin and cheated lakhs of rupees from women. The main accused has been identified as Ajit Kumar Kandi.
The police has seized cash and a vehicle from his possession.
The matter came to the light after a victim lodged a complaint with Laxmisagar police According to success, the accused promised a woman fair glowing skin and prescribed her some medicines and fairness creams.
Much to the shock of the woman, her skin got even worse with more scars all over her body and face.
