State level workshop on Natural Farming in Gram Panchayat Development Plan organised
Bhubaneswar(10/12/2024): Coalition for Change in Odisha, NCNF, Odisha Chapter and PRADAN jointly organised a two-day state level workshop in Bhubaneswar on inclusion of natural farming in gram panchayat development plan (GPDP).
This workshop was inaugurated in Bhubaneswar by the Former Information Commissioner and Mentor CYSD Jagadananda.
In his remarks, he mentioned about the role of gram panchayats in village development.
He remarked that the development of villages and natural farming can be possible with the support of the GPs in our state. Amita Patra, Deputy Director, SIRD & PR imparted lecture on Panchayati Raj System, GPDP and process of people's plan campaign and highlighted points to focus for improved GPDP. In this workshop, the participants were trained on the subjects like role of women in GPDP, MGNREGS, E-Gramswaraj and others by the expers like Jyotirekha Ray Pradhan, Debendra Negi, Uppali Mohanty, Dolagobinda Panda, Kartik Kumar Das.
Ekadashi Nandi, Former State Seed Certification Officer and NCNF Odisha State Convener joined the workshop and remarked on importance of natural farming and inclusion of natural farming in GPDP.
In this workshop, more than 50 CSO functionaries joined from more than 20 civil society organisations across Odisha.
Dolagobinda Panda and Dr.Md.Imran Ali moderated the workshop.
