Two Books authored by Basanti Das Released under the Auspices of Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad
Balasore, Dec 29 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A book release programme marking the launch of two books authored by Basanti Das was held at Kabitirtha Shantikanan, jointly organised by the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad and the Remuna Sahitya Sansad. The event was presided over by Dr Subas Chandra Patra, President of the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad.
Former Nilagiri MLA Comrade Pradeepta Panda attended the programme as the chief guest and formally released both books. Speaking on the occasion, he described the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad and the Remuna Sahitya Sansad as two dedicated literary institutions of Odisha and referred to the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad as a “literary heaven.”
In his presidential address, Dr Subas Chandra Patra spoke on the evolution of the novel as a literary form. He noted that while some critics once described the modern novel as an illegitimate offshoot of literature, it has today gained wide reader acceptance and has emerged as one of the most popular literary genres.
Eminent critic Pandit Niranjan Sahu, while reviewing the poetry collection Matira Swara (The Voice of the Soil), compared it to Mother Earth. He observed that just as the soil nourishes all equally, poet Basanti Das has treated each poem with care and dignity, presenting them with balance and sensitivity.
Editor Dr Ratnakar Singh delivered the introductory remarks and reviewed the novel Ghasaphula. He said the novel reflects the idea that the rewards of sincere and dedicated work may come late, but patience ultimately brings sweet and fulfilling results, which forms the inner voice of the book.
Representatives of Swati Publications, the publisher of both books, shared their publishing experience, while the author Basanti Das spoke about her creative journey and writing experiences.
