Two Shop Owners Among 13 held for staging fake robbery to claim Rs 18 lakh insurance

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The Commissionerate Police have busted a fake robbery case, arresting 13 people, including two plywood shop owners from the Tamando area, for staging a loot drama to fraudulently claim Rs 18 lakh in insurance money.

According to DCP Bhubaneswar Jagmohan Meena, the shop owners conspired with a group of 11 individuals to enact a fake robbery at their establishments. The plan was aimed at deceiving the insurance company into releasing compensation for the alleged loss.

The DCP revealed the details during a press briefing, confirming that all accused have been taken into custody and further investigation is in progress to uncover additional links in the case.
