Union Finance Minister presents Budget 2025, announces program to help 1.7 crore farmers
New Delhi (01/02/2025): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Budget 2025 in Parliament on Saturday. The Union Minister highlighted said, "The Budget aims to implement reforms across six domains - Taxation, Power, Mining, Urban Development, Financial Sector and Regulatory Reforms. The Union Minister highlighted a new agricultural program for farmers of the country. The program will cover 100 districts with low productivity, moderate crop intensity and below average credit parameters. It aims to help 1.7 crore farmers. The Union Budget has introduced a Focus Product Scheme for the footwear and leather sectors, aiming to generate employment for 22 lakh people, drive a turnover of Rs 4 lakh crore and achieve exports exceeding Rs 1.1 lakh crore.
