AVERAGE OF ASSETS PER CANDIDATE CONTESTING IN ODISHA PHASE-III LOK SABHA ELECTIONS IS RS.11.80 CR
Bhubaneswar (16/05/2024): Odisha Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 64 candidates, who are contesting in six constituencies- Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar (ST), Puri and Sambalpur- in the Odisha Phase-III in Lok sabha phase VI elections 2024.
Out of 64 candidates analyzed, 18 (28%) candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves.
Thirteen (20%) candidates have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.
One candidate has declared cases related to murder (IPC Section -302) against himself.
Besides, 4 candidates have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC Section 307) against themselves.
Four candidates have declared cases related to crime against women. It was found that the average of assets per candidate contesting in the Odisha Phase-III Lok Sabha Elections is Rs.11.80 crore.
