District-Level Workshop on Right to Information Act–2005 Held in Balasore

Balasore, March 10 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A district-level workshop on the Right to Information Act–2005 was held today at 10 a.m. in the conference hall of the Balasore Zilla Parishad under the auspices of the District Information and Public Relations Department.

Prior to the main meeting, a speech competition on the Right to Information Act was organized in both Odia and English among students from various colleges of Balasore. 

After the competition, a general meeting was conducted. 

Additional District Magistrate Sudhakar Naik attended the programme as the chief guest. District Information and Public Relations Officer Priyadarshi Rajesh delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests.

Among those present on the dais were trainer Rashmi Ranjan Rout from Bhubaneswar, social worker Shatrughna Mallik, and senior poet and social worker Prashant Das. 

The chief guest explained in detail the objectives, benefits, and possible misuse of the Right to Information Act.
Thereafter, the trainer provided training on the RTI Act to a total of 119 officials present in the conference hall, including FAA, PIO, and APIO officers.
The winners of the Odia and English speech competitions were awarded certificates and cash prizes by the guests. Budhan Hembrom, Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer of Balasore, proposed the vote of thanks.

Rishikant Mohanty, Satya Sagar Mandal, Harishankar Pradhan, Purushottam Sethi, and Kartik Chandra Behera, among others, assisted in organizing the programme.
