Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg Reviews Development Projects During Balasore Visit

Balasore, March 10 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Odisha Chief Secretary Ms. Anu Garg visited Balasore and jointly inaugurated the International Women’s Day programme organised by DRDO at the Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE) campus in Chandipur along with DRDO Secretary Dr. Sameer V. Kamat.

The programme was attended by directors of various DRDO laboratories as well as women scientists and researchers who had come from different parts of the country. The guests emphasized the importance of empowering women in the fields of science and defence and encouraged the advancement of their research initiatives.
Later in the afternoon, Ms. Garg chaired a review meeting with the district administration and officials of various line departments at the conference hall of the Balasore Collectorate. During the meeting, District Collector Suryabanshi Mayur Vikas presented the “Balasore Vision Document.”

The presentation highlighted major ongoing and proposed projects in the district, including the Subarnarekha Port, the Subarnarekha Rejuvenation Scheme, tourism development initiatives, and the export potential of marine products and other commodities. Proposals for the overall development of Balasore were also discussed, such as the construction of a ring road, establishment of a museum related to art, science, and literature, and the development of Balasore into a Municipal Corporation.

The meeting was attended by two Additional District Collectors, two Sub-Collectors, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, and other senior officials.

The Chief Secretary advised the officials to ensure the timely implementation of these projects for the comprehensive development of the district.
