Villagers gherao forest department office over elephant menace

Joda(12/11/2024): The Residents of Jali village under Champua Range in Keonjhar district staged protest against the forest department's inaction regarding elephant menace by gheraoing the department's office.

The villagers alleged that a 28-member elephant herd has destroyed crops and houses in the area over the past few days. The protesters demanded effective measures to control the elephant menace and prevent further damage to their properties.

They claimed that the forest department's failure to manage elephant menace has led to significant losses for the villagers.
