Bhubaneswar(14/08/2023): Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with Tejas coaches from Bhubaneswar railway station on Monday. The Railway Minister announced that the second Vande Bharat Express will run from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar soon.
The route chart has been finalized for the train. Vaishnaw said, "Prior to 2014, about 53 km railway line was being laid annually, but now 459 km track is being laid.
Before 2014, Odisha received Rs 700 crore railway grant which has now been hiked to Rs 10,000 crore." The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express train fitted with modern Tejas rakes can attain a maximus speed of 160 kmph.
During its journey between Bhubaneswar and New Delhi, the train will have 13 stoppages-Cuttack, Bhadrak, Hijli, Tata Nagar Junction, Muri, Koderma Junction, Gaya Junction, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central. Tejas rakes have modern and aesthetically pleasing interiors, often with a focus on comfort and passenger experience.
The coaches feature comfortable seating arrangements, with well-designed seats that offer good legroom and cushioning. Tejas rakes are equipped with automatic doors, enhancing safety and convenience for passengers.
Fire and smoke detection systems are part of the Tejas Express rakes.
