Biju Patnaik's statue set ablaze in Balangir; Odisha CM assures of action

Bhubaneswar(15/04/2025): The statue of legendary leader and former Chief Minister of Odisha Biju Patnaik was set ablaze at Brahmapur block under Patnagarh police station in Balangir district on Tuesday.

The exact cause behind this act is yet to be known. On being informed, Patnagarh police reached the spot and managed to douse the blaze.

The fire, however, had already consumed the polythene sheet covering the statue. Police detained a 'mentally disturbed’ person in connection with the case.

Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that strict action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
