BJEMS 49TH ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET ‘ZEST-2023’ CONCLUDES WITH POMP & SHOW
Bhubaneswar(22/12/2023): The 2-day long 49th Annual Athletic Meet, ZEST-2023 of BJEM School, Bhubaneswar has successfully ended in a grand style amid sportive fervour and gaiety on the school campus today.
Events were held, records were made or broken and prizes were won by the budding athletes from LN to Std.XII.
The Principal Sandhya Jena extended a hearty welcome to all the dignitaries, parents and guardians for their august presence on the occasion, and congratulated all the winners and participants.
Gracing the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest Raghunath Mishra, the Chairman of the school managing committee, expressed that active involvement in physical activities like yoga, sports etc.has direct positive impact on students' academic achievements.
He advised the students to keep participating in such activities no matter what the results are as physical education is not a barrier in their career rather a door way to a successful life.
Attending the function as the Guest of Honour, Pratap Kumar Jena, the Manager of SMC, congratulated the winners and all participants for their competitive spirits.
He advised the students to be sincere in sporting activities as sports and games are integral part of a child’s all round development.
Both the guests appealed the children to simultaneously take care of their ethics and discipline and advised the students to make the best use of the facilities provided by the school and excel in sports in future.
He also expected the students to execute moral values in their lives.
Pallabi Mohapatra, Vice Principal of the school presented the Annual Sports Report of the school, which reflected remarkable achievements of students in different sporting events at the state and national levels.
Mitali Sharma (XII) and M Subhashree (VIII) were felicitated for their performance in cricket in the national level tournaments.
The encouraging presence of Sangram Keshari Nayak, Additional Manager, K.K.Dutta and other distinguished members of the SMC, Admin.Supervisors, Shibanee Pattnaik and B.P.Paikaray, the supervisors, Sucharita Das and Smita Mohanty added charm to the valedictory function.
The students of all the houses manifested their athletic skills with unimpeachable fitness.
Ekalavya House was declared as the Champion House for the year 2023. The air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.
The enthralling Yobics performance by the students under the guidance of P.Senapati, Musical Chair for the parents and the Managing Committee Members, and Teachers’ Relay Race & other events for the support staff filled everyone’s heart with double delight and entertainment.
The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Saroj Kumar Sahu, PGT (Physical Education).
All the events were smoothly and successfully conducted by the PETs of the school such as R.K.Singh, S.N.Sahu, G.C.Mohanty, J.J.Sahoo, K.Pattnaik,R.Satapathy and S.Khatun, whereas the colourful display of the parade accompanied by school band and by different houses was led by the school captain, Sthitipragyan Sahoo and the vice captain Priyanka Ray.
The programme ended with the wishes for “Merry Christmas” & “Happy New Year”.
