Body of missing lady traffic constable found dead in Keonjhar

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The mystery surrounding the disappearance of lady traffic constable Subhamitra Sahoo has ended in tragedy as her body was recovered from a cashew forest near Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Subhamitra was murdered by her male friend, traffic constable Deepak Raut (25). Police allege Deepak strangled Subhamitra to death, transported her body from Bhubaneswar in a car, and buried it in the forest to destroy evidence.

The vehicle used in the crime has been seized, and Deepak Raut has been arrested in connection with the case. 

Subhamitra had been reported missing on September 6 after failing to return home from duty. The Commissionerate Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for credible information about her whereabouts before her body was found.
