CM NAVEEN PATNAIK INAUGURATES MALKANGIRI AIRPORT
Malkangiri (09/01/2024): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Malkangiri airport on Tuesday. In first phase, non scheduled flights with a capacity of 20-30 passengers will operate to and from the newly constructed airport which has a 1600-metre runway. The airport has been constructed on 233 acres of land at an investment of around Rs 70 crore. The Chief Minister said, "The new airport will open up avenues of business and tourism.
It will transform the lives of the people of the region." Prior to inauguration of the airport, trial run of the flight service was successfully conducted yesterday. A seven-seater VT-100 flight took off from Bhubaneswar at 11 am and reached Malkangiri airport at 12:15 pm.
It received water canon welcome.
