Constable suspended for attacking wife
Balangir (13/12/2024): A police constable in Balangir district of Odisha has been suspended for allegedly attacking his wife, who is also a police constable.
The incident occurred on December 8, when the constable, Jyotiranjan Pradhan, attacked his wife, Nupur Biswal, while they were returning from a wedding feast.
Nupur sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to information, Jyotiranjan had stopped their bike near a pond on the pretext of taking a break, and then attacked Nupur with a stone from behind.
Hearing the victim's cries villagers rushed to the spot and took Nupur to the hospital. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
