CYCLONE REMAL INTENSIFIES INTO SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM
Bhubaneswar (26/05/2024): The cyclonic storm “Remal” (pronounced as “Re-Mal”) over North Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm.
It is about 270 kms of Sagar Islands.
The cyclonic storm is likely to move northwards, intensify further and cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts around midnight of May 26 as a Severe Cyclonic Storm.
According to the information shared by India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday, the maximum wind speed is likely to be around 110-120 kmph. There will be no direct impact of the cyclonic storm on Odisha.
The districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak may receive heavy rainfall .
