ODISHA GOVERNMENT PREPARES PLAN TO TACKLE HEAT WAVE CONDITIONS

Bhubaneswar(30/03/2024): The Odisha government has prepared a plan to tackle heat wave conditions in the state. Anganwadi centres will remain open in morning hours only and timings of school will be scheduled. It has been decided to Identify the water scarcity pockets (village/hamlet/ ward wise) and ensure supply of water for drinking and other uses through water tanker to those areas. Urban Shelters, community buildings and other public buildings in rural and urban areas will be used as day time shelters for homeless/needy people for their rest during day time. Availability of drinking water in schools, colleges and other Academic/ Technical institutions will be ensured.
Sufficient ORS will be kept in schools, colleges and outdoor activities have to be restricted.
The timing of schools may be rescheduled on the basis of heatwave situation. Bus timing may be rescheduled considering the effect of heatwave.
Provision of drinking water and first aid box will be made in public transport services. Steps will be taken for uninterrupted power supply.
