Cyclonic storm forming over Bay of Bengal, confirms IMD DG
Bhubaneswar (20/10/2024): A cyclonic storm is likely to form over Bay of Bengal around October 23. Landfall of the cyclonic storm is expected on Odisha-West Bengal coast on October 24 morning.
This was informed by India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General (DG) Mrutyunjaya Mohapatra on Sunday. Rainfall is very likely to start in Odisha from October 23. Heavy rainfall expected on 24th and 25th. Coastal areas may receive more rainfall than interior parts of the state. Some areas may receive 20-30 mm rainfall, while others may receive over 30 mm of rainfall. Wind speed may reach 100-120 km/h .
