D M School celebrates 61st annual function with much pomp & show
Bhubaneswar(21/12/2024): D M School, RIE, Bhubaneswar celebrated its 61st Annual Function and Prize-Giving Ceremony on December 19 and 20, 2024.
The two-day annual event was a judicious blend of prize-giving and fun and entertainment.
On the inaugural day, the programme kicked off with the welcome address by the Head Master Akhileshwar Mishra which was followed by a speech delivered by the Chief Guest of the evening Prof.P.C.Agarwal, Principal, RIE, Bhubaneswar.
Thereafter the prize-giving ceremony was conducted. The second part of the evening witnessed cultural extravaganza which thoroughly enthralled the packed audience.
The classical dances were performed by the primary class students.
These kids danced to the tune of some Odia folk songs such as Sambalpuri.
The Rajasthani Kaalbelia dance was the attraction of the evening which was quite mesmerising.
There were some Hindi songs with lilting music which were quite pulsating.
It was the evening to remember and cherish.
The concluding day of the event followed the same sequence.
Dr.Subhendu Pattnaik, Former Deputy Director Pathani Samanta Planetarium, Bhubaneswar graced the occasion with his august presence as the Chief Guest.
Like the inaugural day, the concluding day was too marked by a series of cultural extravaganza which captivated the audience.
The Annual Report was presented by the Headmaster.
The prize-giving ceremony was conducted after the Chief Guest’s speech.
Today was the turn of Classes VI to XII students to receive prizes in both scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas. Just like the previous evening, the second part of this evening too was the occasion for exhibition of cultural programmes and extravaganza.
Both boys and girls enthralled the audience.
They kept the audience spell-bound with their scintillating performances.
Some Odia skit shows were also performed by the students.
Every one enjoyed every bit of it.
There was a lot of fun as well as pomp and show on both days of the function. The other functionaries of the school who made the 61st Annual function a grand success included Sabita Patnaik, S Murmu, Ghulam Rahbar Jyoti Jena, K B Chhetri, A Tripathy, AK Jena, M Marndi, J Praharaj, Sarita Mishra, K M Nayak, S K Das, Fauzia Naqvie and Manas Panda.
