Eviction drive begins at Salia Sahi
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The eviction of encroachments has begun at Salia Sahi area in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. A joint team of the BMC (Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation) and BDA (Bhubaneswar Development Authority) has launched the eviction drive.
The eviction is being carried out for the construction of a road from Ekamra Kanan to Andharua.
A target has been set to demolish around 517 houses by November 24.
According to reports, five platoons of police force have been deployed at the spot. Residents of the settlement were seen protesting by staging a demonstration in front of the JCB machines.
