Demise of a pious and charitable woman creates wave of grief in the region

Balasore, Sept 3 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty):
Ushamani Acharya, a kind-hearted and charitable woman from Jambeswarpura village under Genguti panchayat in Sadar block, passed away at the age of 86. She was the mother of Pitabas Acharya, priest of the Swayambhu Shri Jambeswarnath Shaiva Peeth.

Her late husband, Katibana Acharya, was a renowned pala singer of the region. With her passing, a wave of grief has swept across the locality. For the past few days, she had been ailing due to age-related illness and was under treatment. At the time of her death, her two sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and other family members were by her side. Her younger son, Srinibas Acharya, performed the last rites.

Several prominent persons of the area joined the funeral procession to pay their respects. Among them were local Sarpanch Manjulata Acharya, human rights activist Sudhakar Sethi, former Sarpanch Birupakshya Mohapatra, social worker Jaladhar Samal, retired teacher Niranjan Prasad Barik, and other respected figures including Satyanarayan Acharya, Gopinath Das, and Nabakrishna Acharya. All expressed deep sorrow at the demise of the pious and benevolent woman.
