EDUCATION AND SPORTS ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT, SAYS KAPIL DEV AT BJEM SCHOOL'S GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION
Bhubaneswar(19/12/2023): The air of BJEM School campus in Bhubaneswar was filled with the unimaginable sense of euphoria and enthusiasm as the 3 day long Golden Jubilee Celebration has come to end with much pride and excitement.
The closing day mega celebration was inaugurated with a virtual message by Chief Minister, Odisha Naveen Patnaik.
Gracing the august evening exclusively dedicated to the alumni as the Chief Guest, Padmabhushan Kapil Dev, legendary Indian cricketer, advised the students to strive to excel both in education and sports so that they can rise to eminence in their coveted fields.
He also advised the students to make continued efforts, despite initial failure, and wait for the day of achievements.
Attending the valedictory evening as the guest of honour, Soumendra Priyadarshi, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar- Cuttack, urged the students to feel proud of their alma mater and to contribute sincerely for further growth and development of the school. Another guest of honour, K.Shanti, an alumna of the school and former Deputy Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) highlighted the ethics of BJEM School to promote holistic development of each student enrolled.
The Principal Sandhya Jena felt highly honoured and privileged to extend a warm welcome to the guests, dignitaries and the crowd for their gracious presence.
Chairman of the School Managing Committee Raghunath Mishra urged the students to develop love for the school as well as for the motherland and expected them to earn good name for themselves as BJEMS alumni.
Dr.Ashwini Tiwari, the Vice Chairman conducted a very interactive and enriching session with the champion cricketer, Kapil Dev.
Addressing the crowd, Pratap Kumar Jena, Manager, SMC, highlighted how with hard work, sheer grit and determination, impossible can be made possible and Kapil Dev ji made the country feel proud of with his exemplary leadership and performance.
Kapil Dev inspired the students to focus on discipline, concentration and originality.
The former principals of the school like Dr.G.Thangadurai and J.K.Mohanty were felicitated for their contributions to the school.
The toppers of secondary and senior secondary wings for last 50 years were felicitated with mementos in recognition of the glory they have brought to the school.
All the guests were proudly felicitated by the school administration for their benign presence on such a glorious occasion in the history of the school.
The function was graced by the encouraging presence of Sangram Keshari Nayak, Additional Manager, SMC, the distinguished members of the management, Supervisors Shibanee Pattnaik, Barada Prasad Paikaray, the convener of the Golden Jubilee Committee and other special invitees.
Towards the end, spectacular display of cultural performances by the teachers of the school and the alumni enthralled the audience with boundless delights.
The function culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by Pallabi Mohapatra, the Vice Principal, who acknowledged the efforts of the students, the staff, the management, the alumni and other stakeholders, Bikram Pattnaik, Dr.Itishree Sarangi, President and Secretary of Alumni Association respectively, Sibadutta Dash & alumni also graced the dais, EB & GB members of BJ Education Society in making the function a grand success.
