Balasore, 30/6(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) A graceful farewell ceremony was organised by Fakir Mohan University to honour Professor Sabyasachi Pattnaik, a distinguished academician and researcher from the Postgraduate Department of Computer Science, on the occasion of his superannuation. The programme marked a poignant moment of gratitude and reflection, celebrating decades of his invaluable service to the institution.

Professor Pattnaik, known for his commitment to education, research, and values-driven leadership, retired after years of dedicated academic and administrative contribution to the university. The farewell event was not only a formal send-off but also an expression of deep respect and admiration for a teacher who has left an enduring legacy.

The event was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Registrar Kukumina Das, Chairman of the Postgraduate Council Professor Bhaskar Behera, Controller of Finance Karan Soren, and Controller of Examinations Ranjan Kumar Ray. Faculty members from various departments, non-teaching staff, and students also participated in large numbers, making the occasion memorable.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Professor Tripathy praised Professor Pattnaik’s academic excellence and administrative foresight. He stated, “Professor Pattnaik was not only a dedicated educator and researcher, but also a visionary whose efforts significantly advanced the department’s stature.”

Other speakers offered warm appreciation, highlighting his journey in academia, his published research works, leadership qualities, and his role in upholding human values within the academic community. Colleagues recalled his simplicity, motivational teaching style, and moral integrity, expressing their sentiments in moving words.

In his farewell speech, Professor Pattnaik said, “This university has been my second home. Whatever I have learned and offered here has been enriched by the collective support of everyone. You all and this institution are part of my cherished memories.” Reflecting on his time, he added, “The journey was joyful and enlightening. I experienced unity, dedication, and a spirit of collaboration that formed the foundation of our shared achievements.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a memento and a token of appreciation to Professor Pattnaik by the Vice Chancellor, symbolising the university’s heartfelt gratitude for his exemplary service.

The event stood as a testimony to Professor Pattnaik’s impactful career and the affection he earned from the university community—an inspiring moment for both current and future generations in academia.
