Fostering Growth Together: Deloitte Impact Day 2024
Bhubaneswar(14/12/2024): Deloitte India reinforced its commitment to community development by celebrating Deloitte Impact Day at Gram Vikas High School, Kankia, in Ganjam district, Odisha.
Sixty-five enthusiastic volunteers from Deloitte’s Bhubaneswar office participated in this one-day event, impacting the lives of 520 students from 1st to 10th standards. The volunteers divided into multiple groups to conduct interactive and impactful sessions covering a range of topics, including Cybercrime Awareness, the Impact of Social Media, Financial Literacy, Career Counseling, Mental Health Awareness Inclusivity, Communication, and Personality Development, Natural Resources and Sustainability, Sanitation and Hygiene, Swachh Bharat Mission, Good Touch and Bad Touch for Girls, Fun and Recreational Activities. The event concluded with distribution of gifts to all participating students, leaving smiles and inspiration for future growth and learning. Additionally, Deloitte volunteers staged a street play in Bikashpur village to raise awareness among community members on critical social issues.
This activity underlined Deloitte’s focus on sensitizing rural communities about challenges and solutions related to sustainable living and social well-being. Partnership for Sustainable Development-Deloitte India and Gram Vikas have been long-standing partners in fostering sustainable development in Odisha and Jharkhand through several impactful initiatives:Water and Livelihoods Secure Gram. Panchayats Programme: This project included sensitization sessions, training, and preparation of water security plans. Community-Owned Social and Agroforestry:This initiative benefits 258 households across four villages, promoting sustainable forestry practices and livelihoods. CROPS Project: Focused on improving nutrition in Odisha’s villages, this project empowers rural communities with sustainable farming techniques and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) integration. Building a Better Tomorrow- Deloitte’s Impact Day embodies the organization’s purpose of making an impact that matters.
The event at Kankia and the ongoing collaborative projects with Gram Vikas reflect Deloitte’s dedication to driving inclusive growth, enhancing community resilience, and supporting sustainable livelihoods in underserved regions .
