Heavy rainfall triggers waterlogging in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack

Bhubaneswar(Bhubaneswar): Parts of the twin cities- Bhubaneswar and  Cuttack witnessed waterlogging on Tuesday morning, following heavy rainfall.

Odisha Fire and Emergency Services Department has kept pumps ready at six places in Cuttack and four places in Bhubaneswar for dewatering.


A low-pressure area has formed over the north-west Bay of Bengal. It is likely to intensify further in the next 24 hours. Under its influence, Odisha is likely to experience heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms until the 5th of this month.

In Bhubaneswar, Old Town, Samantarapur and other low lying areas faced waterlogging, which disrupted movement of vehicles on several busy roads.

Meanwhile, Balasore district recorded 605 mm of rainfall.
Various parts of the district including Telenga Sahi, Darji Sahi, Nuasahi, Angaragadia and Gudipadaa got flooded after incessant rainfall.
