Heightened security in Odisha after Delhi explosion kills 10

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): In the wake of a massive explosion in Delhi, authorities have issued a heightened security alert in Odisha. The blast near Gate No.1 of the metro station close to the Red Fort claimed 10 lives and injured more than 24 others. The explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20, damaging several nearby vehicles as well. Investigators are working to determine whether the incident was caused by a mechanical fault or if explosives were involved.

In response to the explosion, a high alert has also been declared in Puri. DGP YB Khurania has instructed all SPs to remain vigilant. 

Puri SP Prateek Singh urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 112. 

Enhanced security measures have been implemented around the Shree Jagannath Temple, the beach, and Bada Danda (Grand Road). All entry routes into Puri are under close surveillance, and vehicle checks are being conducted near the Pipili toll gate.

Security has also been reinforced at Bhubaneswar Airport.
