LADY POLICE IIC ATTACKED WHILE RAIDING GAMBLING DEN

Balasore(19/02/2024): A lady police inspector-in-charge (IIC) was allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants while raiding a gambling den at Udaypur village under Bhogarai block in Balasore district late on Sunday night. When the IIC of Talasari Marine Police Station Champabati Soren reached a shop at Udaypur village after receiving information regarding gambling activities, some miscreants started arguing with her.

Soon, a scuffle ensued the miscreants locked up the lady police officer in the shop.

The driver of the patrolling vehicle Sudhanshu Mohanty, who tried to save the lady cop, was also attacked by the miscreants. After receiving information about the incident, a team from Bhogarai Police Station and Chandaneswar Police Outpost rushed to the spot and rescued both of them. The police detained at least 20 persons in connection with the attack.
