Maoist camp busted in Balangir
Bhubaneswar, (By Abhishek Mohanty): A Maoist camp was busted in Balangir district of Odisha.
The District Voluntary Force and Special Operation Group unearthed the camp during a combing operation and recovered a huge cache of explosives, including tiffin bombs, IEDs and detonators.
Acting on specific information regarding the presence of Maoists at the Gandhamardan Hills under Khaprakhol police limits and Chhatradandi forest under Tureikela police limits, the security forces conducted the operation.
The Gandhamardan area and Chhatradandi Reserve Forest are believed to be communication routes for Maoist operatives.
The Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasumund Division forms part of the corridor used by Maoists to move along the forest terrain of Chhattisgarh.
