Minor girl consumes insecticide after rape attempt

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): A minor girl tried to end life after a man attempted to rape her in Satyabadi area of Puri district.

The father of the 13-year-old girl has lodged a complaint in this connection at the Balanga police station.

As per the complaint, accused Aju Pradhan tried to rape the girl when she had gone to a pace for work. Aju allegedly threatened the girl not to disclose the matter to anyone.
The victim managed to escape and reach home, where she consumed pesticide. She then informed about the matter to her father over phone.
The victim was rushed to Sakhigopal Hospital and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital. She was eventually taken to a hospital in after her condition deteriorated.

Police have started conducting raids at different places to nab the accused.
